Door System Overview

The elevator door system ensures safe and efficient passenger transfer at each landing. The door operator & landing door work together—the operator, mounted on the car, drives the door mechanism, while the landing door remains closed until the car arrives. The door panel provides the physical barrier, available in various materials and finishes to match building aesthetics. For simple or low-traffic applications, a manual door & door panel allows passengers to push the door open, requiring no automatic operator. Critical door parts such as rollers, locks, and tracks must be precisely manufactured to guarantee smooth, reliable motion. Finally, the light curtain creates an invisible infrared beam array across the doorway; if any beam is interrupted during closing, the doors immediately reverse, preventing injury to passengers or damage to cargo. This integrated system delivers both operational efficiency and passenger protection throughout the elevator's service life.
